Job Advert

A fit, motivated, and experienced Second Engineer is required on a temporary basis on a fairly new 60-metre private/charter vessel currently located in the USA. The vessel is well maintained, operates to a high standard, and is currently preparing for summer cruising in the Mediterranean. The yacht is equipped with modern propulsion systems and structured onboard procedures. The ideal candidate will hold a minimum Y4 Certificate of Competency (Y3 or higher preferred) and must have strong hands-on mechanical skills with the ability to work accurately, autonomously, and timeously. AV/IT skills and experience are a prerequisite for this role. The successful engineer should be practical, adaptable, and proactive, with a positive, team-focused attitude. Candidates with the right to work in the USA or holding a valid B1/B2 visa will be prioritised. Shipyard works include significant overhauls and the opportunity to experience major works which will add to your CV.

The contract will start April 1st and run for a minimum period of one-month in a Florida shipyard. The contract may be extended to two months with an Atlantic crossing to France. This depends on the return of the current 2nd engineer (medical leave). Candidates who only wish to apply subject to a confirmed crossing (to accrue seatime) will need to make this clear on their application.
