Job Advert

A motivated, capable, and hands-on Second Engineer is sought for a 50-metre motor yacht currently located on the western side of the Atlantic, with plans to cross to the South of France and Italy. The successful candidate should hold a minimum of a Y3, EOOW, or higher Certificate of Competency and ideally bring a solid working knowledge of AV/IT systems. Strong practical mechanical ability is essential, along with the confidence to work independently, follow direction effectively, and complete tasks efficiently and to a high standard.

The ideal engineer will demonstrate a positive, proactive attitude and a willingness to learn and contribute across departments when required. This includes supporting deck operations, assisting during guest or owner periods, and working collaboratively with the wider crew to maintain a professional and supportive onboard environment.

The position is scheduled to commence in mid-April 2026. The role will begin with approximately six weeks onboard (temporary paid daily) to allow the incoming engineer to become familiar with the vessel, take part in the Atlantic crossing to Europe and prove themselves onboard. All going well, following arrival in Europe and the vessel entering into a planned shipyard period, the rotational schedule of 10 weeks on / 10 weeks off (paid year-round) will commence. As a result, the successful candidate should expect to complete approximately 16 weeks onboard initially before the rotation begins.
