40m+ sailing vessel, based in the Pacific Ocean, requires a qualified, permanent First Engineer to join its team of maritime professionals.  The suitable candidate should be an avid sailor and have experience sailing large sail yachts, as well as the technical and mechanical ability to operate and maintain all of the systems onboard.  The candidate should be able to work well within a small team, have the capacity to work independently and the confidence to take responsibility for the engineering department.  The position offers a number of benefits including a flexible time off structureflag state social security and health insurance membership.  The successful candidate will join the vessel on charter on 10 July 2019 followed by a short stay in dry-dock and an end-of-year island charter.
 
 
 
 
Job Specification
  • Valid AEC qualification as a minimum
  • Valid STCW '10 certifications and ENG1 Medical Certificate with no restrictions.
  • Must hold Proficiency in Security Awareness (PSA)
  • Must have 3+ Years experience in a similar role on a large sailing vessel
  • Must have good experience maintaining and servicing marine engines (Cummins experience an advantage)
  • Must have good experience and knowledge of a wide range of marine engineering and hotel service systems
  • Must have the ability to read mechanical and electrical drawings
  • Must speak English fluently
  • Should have a basic competency level with AV/IT Systems but willing to learn and provide support
  • Should be personable and willing to help out in other aspects on the vessel
  • Should be able and willing to perform watch duties
  • RYA YachtMaster Offshore and/or Power Boat Level II / Tender Driving qualification an advantage
  • No Visible Tattoos

  • No Visa / Work Permit requirements i.e. all nationalities will be considered.
