A hard-working, dedicated and highly competent 2nd engineer (Y3) is required for a privately owned, Mediterranean based, 75m+ motor yacht.  The right candidate should possess a full set of mechanical and electrical skills to maintain all onboard machinery and systems.  The ideal person should have a minimum of 3 years on a 50m+ yacht, be able to take full responsibility for their role onboard and commit to becoming a long term valued member of the engineering team.  Reporting to the Chief Engineer you will be required to keep an accurate record of spare parts, maintenance works and department purchases.  Furthermore the right candidate must be self motivated, an effective communicator, highly organized, neat and tidy worker and keep good time management. This role is open to all those engineers looking to secure a long term role in a highly effective team of professionals.
 
The joining date for this position is early to mid June 2022.  Candidates must be vaccinated for COVID-19.
Job Specification
  • Valid STCW '10 Certificates.
  • Valid ENG1 Medical.
  • Proficiency in Designated Security Duties (PDSD).
  • Y3, EOOW or SV Second Engineer CoC as a minimum
  • Must hold a vaccination for Covid-19
  • Minimum experience of 3 years on a 50m+ vessel.
  • Experienced with CATERPILLAR main propulsion and generators an advantage
  • Knowledge and experience with IDEA Planned Maintenance System.
  • Must speak English fluently, preferably mother tongue
  • Good health, no criminal record, non-smoker, no visible tattoos
  • Highly organized, clean and tidy worker with good sobriety
  • US B1/B2 Visa advantageous
  • Must be seeking a long term placement
  • Should be personable, teachable and willing to help out in other aspects on the vessel
  • All nationalities to be considered but UK / European candidates preferred
