An experienced and suitably qualified Reefer Engineer is required for a well known European shipping company which managers a global fleet of reefer and container ships.  The vacancy within the business is to provide specialist skills onboard key ocean crossing voyages, refit and new build works and technical troubleshooting of all reefer plant and machinery.  Reporting to the Chief Engineer the ideal candidate should have good knowledge and experience with citrus and/or frozen seafood shipping. Training in PPECB protocol, special cold treatment standards as well as USDA Cargo requirements is preferred.  Candidates would be required to join voyages of 1-3 months in duration.  Long term employment is available based on performance.  This role is also open to Reefer Technicians willing to commit long term with the company and be trained to advance their knowledge and skills within the Reefer Shipping industry. 
 
The start date for this role would be flexible for the right candidate.  You must be vaccinated for COVID-19.
Job Specification
  • Valid STCW '10 Certificates.
  • Valid ENG1 Medical.
  • Proficiency in Designated Security Duties (PDSD).
  • Professional qualification in HVAC / Refrigeration preferred.
  • Experience working onboard a Reefer vessel or offshore / containerised refrigeration installation.
  • Experienced with STAL, SABROE, MYCOM, BITZER equipment advantageous.
  • Must speak English fluently
  • Good health and good sobriety
  • Should be looking for a long term role and commitment
  • US B1/B2 Visa advantageous
  • All nationalities to be considered
  • Must hold a vaccination for Covid-19
