A well known cruise ship in Northern Europe is looking for an engine cadet with an EOOW. Potential candidates should be customer focused with a good attitude and willingness to learn. A team player attitude is essential. The vessel will be cruising the fjords of Norway for the majority of the summer. The start date is set for the 1st of September 2018 and is a permanent position. No previous cruise ship experience is required but solid references from internships and other practical experience will be essential. The candidate should be able to travel to all EU and Schengen states on their passport.
Job Specification
ENG1 and STCW'10 certificates required
  • The cadet will report to the senior engineering team and will be responsible for day-to-day engine room tasks including cleanliness of the engine room, performing watch duties, maintenance and general hotel engineering tasks
  • Due to the nature of the industry no visible tattoos will be allowed and preferably non-smokers should apply
  • Most of the systems will be taught on the job including a formal induction
