A dual-season 60-metre motor yacht is looking for a top-quality Chief Engineer with a minimum Y3 Certificate of Competency to join their programme on short notice. The initial role to be offered is a temporary placement to cover the existing Chief Engineer but with a high likelihood of the role becoming permanent (based on performance and fit with the vessel programme). The ideal candidate should be able to demonstrate a strong technical aptitude and engineering ability and the capability to maintain and operate the vessel's modern onboard machinery to the highest standards. The right candidate should speak English fluently (preferably as a mother tongue) and should have at least 2 years' experience as a Chief Engineer on a similar-sized vessel. Candidates who can show longevity on their CV will be well received and although AVIT and deck work are not prerequisites of this role, such skills would be advantageous. This is a very busy programme, and the crew work very hard but get rewarded for it so we are not looking for a lazy telephone engineer.
The temp period will run from August 19th to September 26th (Mediterranean cruising) and again from November 28th to January 16th (Caribbean cruising). Both periods will have charters and tips to be earned, with brief shipyard periods of 5 days included.
The role is open to all applicants from all nationalities.
